Responsibilities

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6223 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services. -Our acute rehabilitation services include occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or another disabling condition. We offer advanced treatment for a wide range of conditions including stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas and spinal cord and back injuries. All patients will experience private rooms, have access to a newly renovated therapy gym, and personalized care from our qualified staff. -Website: www.northernnevadahealth.com - -This Cook opportunity is full time, offers full benefits and a convenient schedule shift. -This position is for our New Rehab Hospital. - Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the cook performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties. The cook will prepare appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to recipes. - -Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Determines types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies.
• Determines foods/supplies/equipment that are low in supply and uses list to communicate to Director/Supervisor. Also assists in putting foods/supplies away appropriately in designated storage area after delivery.
• Ensures meals are ready at specified times and consults with director/supervisor regarding use of leftover food.

  Requirements:
  • One to three (1-3) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
